Tarangire Safari
The largest population of elephants in Tanzania awaits you on this unforgettable safari in Tarangire National Park. Discover incredible wildlife with your expert English-speaking guide!
Tarangire Safari
On the day of your safari, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Arusha at 8 am, ready to set off on the three-hour journey to Tarangire National Park.
Reaching our destination, we'll embark on a guided tour in a 4x4 vehicle, perfect for safaris. The national park, named after the Tarangire River that runs through it, attracts numerous wild animals who migrate here from other areas of Tanzania during the dry season (between July and October). Buffalos, wildebeest and zebra are just three of the species that join the park's wealth of creatures who inhabit the area year-round.
If there's one highlight of Tarangire, it has to be the park's unrivalled number of elephants. Despite sadly falling victim to poachers during the 1980s, the population of these gentle giants has recovered and there are up to 2,500 elephants throughout the park.
The elephants live alongside giraffes; antelopes, from the tiny dik-dik to the larger impala; warthogs; baboons and tree-climbing lions all year round as well as around 500 different species of bird. Meanwhile, Tarangire National Park itself is a lush green space characterised by its large number of baobab trees. Throughout our safari, as we marvel at the natural wonders of the reserve, we'll discover fascinating facts about it thanks to our expert English-speaking guide.
We'll make a stop to enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing our safari around Tarangire National Park. Then we'll head back to Arusha where we'll drop you off at your hotel at around 5 pm after an unforgettable day of adventure.
