McConnell’s Distillery Tour
Activity Details
The visit begins at McConnell’s Distillery, located within the complex of the historic Crumlin Road Gaol. Are you ready for an immersion in the history and flavor of Northern Irish whiskey? Let’s begin!
You’ll be welcomed with a drink, a 5-year-old McConnell’s. During this 1-hour experience, you’ll have the opportunity to learn about the fascinating history of this brand, which dates back to 1776, and discover how its legacy has been revived in the 21st century, with deep roots in Belfast.
The guided tour will take you through the newly transformed A-Wing of Crumlin Road Gaol, where McConnell’s Distillery is now located. Alongside the guide, you’ll discover the story of McConnell's Irish Whiskey, from its origins to its revival, as well as the secrets of the distillation process and how the identity of Belfast is intertwined with the brand.
Finally, you’ll take part in a whiskey tasting to sample three of the distillery’s award-winning spirits. In addition, the facilities also feature a café, a bar, and a shop in case you’d like to take home a souvenir. Everything has been carefully thought out!
