Free Walking Tour of Benidorm
The free tour of Benidorm begins in Plaza Triangular, also known as Plaza de la Hispanidad. And from here we'll make our way to the historic centre of the city, where we'll learn all about the origins of this ancient fishing village.
As you explore Calle Mayor, your guide will explain how Benidorm turned from this little town populated by fishermen into the internationally renowned tourist destination it is today!
Then the tour heads to Plaza de Castelar, where we'll see one of the oldest churches in the area: the iglesia de San Jaime y Santa Ana, built in the 18th century to honour the patron saint of Benidorm: The Virgin of Suffrage.
And just around the corner from the church, you'll find the Castle Viewpoint, with some stunning views of the playa de Levante. And on its coastline, you'll be able to make out the famous group of skyscrapers that made Benidorm the "New York of the Mediterranean".
Then to bring the free tour to an end, we'll descend the stairs that connect this viewpoint to the Balcón del Mediterráneo, perhaps Benidorm's most famous viewpoint. From this privileged spot, we'll enjoy stunning views of Benidorm Island on the horizon, and your guide will tell all of its secrets!
