Discover the charms of the beautiful city in the Basque Country with this San Sebastian Day Trip. The activity also includes a climb to Monte Igueldo, an exceptional viewpoint from where you can see La Concha Beach.
San Sebastian Day Trip
We'll leave Bilbao early in the morning in the direction of San Sebastian, arriving in just over an hour.
In the capital of Gipuzkoa we'll enjoy a guided walking tour of the centre of San Sebastian. Just by walking along the seafront promenade, we'll learn why royalty and the wealthier classes chose this destination for their summer holidays. Belle Époque buildings adorn this area of the city. Some hotels still retain the romantic and elegant atmosphere of those years. The most outstanding example is the María Cristiana, a regular place to stay for actors and directors taking part in the famous San Sebastian Film Festival.
At the foot of Mount Urgull, we'll take a stroll through the streets of the Old Quarter. Although it¡s home to the Plaza de la Constitución and the Church of Santa María del Coro, this part of the city is known for having the highest concentration of bars in the world. You'll have free time to have lunch in this area and try its irresistible "pintxos". After lunch, you can choose to take a stroll along one of San Sebastian's three beaches, La Cocha, Ondarreta and Zurriola.
In the afternoon we'll meet again in front of the Kursaal Palace. Here the bus will be waiting for us to take us to the viewpoint of Monte Igueldo. Its privileged location will provide us with a beautiful view of the bay, the island of Santa Clara and La Concha Beach, considered one of the most beautiful urban beaches in the world.
After contemplating this iconic panoramic view of San Sebastian, we'll return to Bilbao.
