Daintree & Cooya Beach Tour
On the morning of the tour, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Cairns from 7:30 am and we'll set off on the one-hour journey by bus to Cooya Beach, our first stop of the day.
Also called Kuyu Kuyu in the local aboriginal language, this is one of the best places to learn about the traditional owners of Australia. We'll get to meet some of the Kuku Yalanji people and learn about their culture and daily lives. They'll also teach us how to fish using their traditional techniques and take us on a hunt for food which they do every day to feed their family - the perfect opportunity to test your skills!
Next we'll head to a restaurant for a delicious lunch with local flavours. Try the barramundi fish for lunch!
Feeling energised after our meal, we'll continue our tour to Daintree National Park, where we'll enter the lush forest around Mossman Gorge. As we explore the trails throughout the park, we'll discover the plants and wildlife native to the region.
At the end of our ten-hour tour, we'll make our way back to Cairns where you'll be dropped back off at your hotel.
Itinerary changes
Sometimes, depending on the tides, the route of this activity may be reversed, visiting Daintree first and then Cooya Beach.
