Food Tour of Hue
After meeting up at 33 Vo Thi Sau Street in Hue at 5:30 pm, our adventure through the flavours of Vietnam will begin.
Legend has it that in Hue an emperor threatened his cooks with the death penalty if they served him a dish he had tasted before, and it's from this ominous myth that the city's gastronomic wealth has developed. Ready to discover it? The first dish we'll try on our food tour is banh beo, a dish which translates to "water fern cakes" and which is made of rice and tapioca flours.
We'll then continue our route around Hue down Han Marc Tu Street, from which will have excellent views over the Perfume River. Here, we'll get to try com hen or bun hen, a traditional rice dish made with baby mussels.
Next, we'll get an authentic feel of the hustle and bustle of daily life in Hue as we immerse ourselves in the chaos of Dong Ba Market. You'll be left speechless by the amount of fresh produce around you! We'll stop to try bun thit nuong or bun bo Hue, both delicious meat and noodle dishes.
Make sure you leave room for dessert! It's time to taste banh khoai, a coconut-flavoured sweet and a pure Vietnamese delight. Before bringing our food tour of Hue to an end, we'll take a stroll through the night market, where you can have a beer to toast to an unforgettable night. The tour will end at 9 pm.
