Join us for a captivating kayak tour on the Tramandaí River, where we'll paddle through scenic landscapes, observe diverse bird species, and explore the Mysterious Lagoon, home to the elusive caiman.
Imbé River Canoeing Adventure
At the designated time, we'll meet up at the Barranco Marina and proceed to the Old Bridge on the Estrada do Mar. Here, we'll board our canoes and equip ourselves for an exciting kayak journey on the Tramandaí River.
Before setting off, our knowledgeable instructor will brief us on essential safety rules. As we paddle downstream, covering a distance of 12 to 15 kilometers (7.5 to 9.3 miles), we'll be treated to breathtaking views of the Serra Geral mountains and encounter the unique plants and wildlife native to the region.
Throughout the tour, spot a variety of birds, including cardinals, herons, dry heads, chimangos, caracaras, and possibly even spoonbills with their distinctive pink plumage. For those seeking an extra thrill, we can arrange a stop for a refreshing swim.
After approximately 30 minutes of paddling, we'll reach the Mysterious Lagoon—an area with challenging access where yacarés overos, a crocodile species native to South America, reside. Continuing southward, we'll navigate a tranquil section of the river.
For those interested, we can take a detour to the Tramandaí bridge, passing by riverside mansions that create a striking contrast with the untamed surroundings.
Concluding our journey, we'll return to the starting point, with the tour duration ranging from three to five hours, depending on the group's pace.
