Elephant Sanctuary and Batu Caves Trip
Follow in the footsteps of one of the oldest mammals in existence: the magnificent elephant. This fantastic trip will take you to the Kuala Gandah sanctuary where you will meet these amazing creatures. You will also visit the magical Batu Caves, spectacularly set in a hillside overlooking the city.
Elephant Sanctuary and Batu Caves Trip
After picking you up from your hotel in the center of Kuala Lumpur, we will begin our 68-mile bus journey to the Kuala Gandah Sanctuary, a conservation center located in the middle of the jungle which is home to around 1,200 magnificent Asian elephants.
Once there, we'll spend the morning getting to know these fascinating creatures. You will feed them their favorite food and wash them using the hoses. The species that live here are extremely gentle and accustomed to being around humans. This is a brilliant experience to enjoy during your holiday in Malaysia!
During our visit to the elephant sanctuary, we will also see a fascinating documentary explaining the reasons why these animals are in danger of extinction and what is being done here to stop their poaching. To understand this, we will have to go back to 1989 which is when the species began to be preserved.
On the way back to Kuala Lumpur, we will make one last stop to complete our fantastic trip. We will visit the famous Batu Caves, one of Malaysia's natural treasures, spectacularly set in the hillside overlooking the city. They are famous for being home to beautiful golden statues of the different Hindu deities, and for hosting important festivals and celebrations.
At the end of the visit to the caves, we will return to the bus and head back to Kuala Lumpur. When we arrive, we will drop you off at your hotel.
