At 9 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Lecce and head north until we reach Trani, located two hours away.
Once we arrive at our first destination of the day, you will have an hour and a half of free time to explore the historic city center. You will discover a picturesque old town with a lively port and a magical promenade.
During your visit to Trani, we recommend you visit the magnificent cathedral of St. Nicholas which dates back to the tenth century, admire the impressive Svevo castle, take a stroll through the Jewish quarter, and taste the delicious local cuisine.
The next stop on the tour will be at the iconic Castel del Monte, 40 minutes away. You will have four hours free to yourself to discover this fortress which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
You can visit the two floors of the castle, explore its halls, and stroll through its elegant courtyard. On the monument's information panels, you will discover some mysteries that for centuries have been part of the fortress' history. Why is the number eight repeated so many times in its architectural design? Is the building shaped like a crown in honor of Emperor Frederick II? These are just some of the enigmas of Castel del Monte.
After, we will return to Lecce and drop you at your hotel at 7 pm.
