Feel like a true Eskimo when you build your very own Igloo in the mountains of Andorra. This is the perfect adventure to have during your visit to Escaldes.
Build an Igloo
We will meet at 3 pm in the El Cubil car park at the Grau Roig ski resort. There, we will pick up all the material and tools we will need for this fantastic igloo building activity before heading into the beautiful forests of the Moretó Valley.
On the way we will learn how the Eskimos live, and the most striking features of these icy houses. We will then start to create a compacting or block igloo, depending on the density of the snow of that particular day. You will hear amazing facts, such as how these igloos keep people warm even in temperatures of -40º.
Shovels and saws are the only tools needed to build these icy constructions. Once the work is finished, we will go into the igloo to discover how different it feels from outside.
After an hour and a half of learning and building igloos, we will return to the original departure point where our brilliant experience finishes.
