Cuenca by High Speed Train

At your chosen time we'll leave Atocha Train Station in Madrid by high speed train. After a 30 minute journey, we'll arrive in Cuenca. Welcome to the city of the unique Hanging Houses!

You'll have the day free to wander through the historic centre, which was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. As you explore its narrow streets you'll come across important sites such as the Cathedral and the Calderón de la Barca Tunnel, if you want to discover Cuenca from underground. 

Also, you can't leave without visiting Cuenca's main highlight: the Hanging Houses. You'll be surprised by the large balconies that loom over the cliff edge, it looks like they're floating over the Huécar river!

Then at your chosen time, you'll get the high speed train back to Madrid.

Cuenca Tourist Train

The tour includes a ticket valid for 24 hours for the Cuenca tourist train. You can get on and off as many times as you like to see the iconic landmarks such as the Castle, Plaza Mayor, the Auditorium and the Calderón de la Barca street.

The train operates from Thursday to Sunday from January to March, and Tuesday to Sunday from April to December. Before reserving you can check the routes and stops on the following map:

Timetable

Upon booking, you'll have to choose a departure time from Madrid and the return from Cuenca:

• Tuesday to Friday: departure at 7:45 am or 8:44 am, return at 7:04 pm or 7:57 pm.
• Saturday: departure at 8:40 am or 9:34 am, return at 5:21 pm or 6:21 pm.
• Sunday: departure at 8:40 am or 9:34 am, return at 7:05 pm or 7:57 pm.
