Stonehenge & Bath Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet on Beaumont Street, from where we'll hop into a bus and leave Oxford behind to visit two of England's most iconic destinations—Bath and Stonehenge.
We'll start our journey by making our way through the scenic English countryside for just under 2 hours until we reach the elegant city of Bath. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is famed for its honey-coloured Georgian buildings, lively atmosphere, and rich Roman heritage. Don't forget to snap some photos!
As we wander through Bath's charming streets, we'll spot some of the city's most famous landmarks, including the impressive Bath Abbey and the graceful Pulteney Bridge. Then, we'll delve into the past with a visit to the Roman Baths—one of the most fascinating ancient sites in the UK. We'll admire the steaming waters of the Great Bath, discover the sacred spring, and explore the engaging exhibits that bring Roman life to vivid reality.
Next, we'll give you a bit of time in Bath to grab a quick bite to eat before we continue to our next destination. After lunch, we'll hop back in the vehicle and drive for another hour across rolling hills and open fields to the mysterious stone circle of Stonehenge.
Over 5,000 years old, this prehistoric monument continues to puzzle and inspire visitors from all over the world. As we stand among the mighty sarsen stones, you won't be able to help but wonder—how did they get here? What were they used for? Who built them?
We'll take time to explore the site, where you can also check out the Visitor Centre to dive even deeper into the monument's history. With fascinating exhibits, reconstructed Neolithic houses, and theories ranging from the spiritual to the scientific, you'll be amazed! You can also use a handy audio guide onsite to help you understand this monument even more!
After an unforgettable day filled with ancient wonders and beautiful sights, we'll make our way back to Oxford, arriving back at the starting point after a total of 9 hours.
