See Peru's famous bay scallops in their natural environment, watch how they're harvested and even taste them for yourself with this visit to a scallop farm.
Paracas Scallop Farm Tour
We'll meet at the Hotel Paracas pier at 8:45 am ready to take part in a very unique activity! The conchas de abanico, meaning "fan shells", are a type of scallop found in the bays of Peru.
First, we'll board a speedboat and sail out to the bay of the Paracas National Reserve to learn about how the fishermen collect the scallops, an important part of the local gastronomy.
During the trip, you'll learn about all the properties of this seafood by visiting the scallop farm on Atenas beach. You'll see the shells fresh from the sea and, of course, get to taste them yourself with a glass of sparkling wine!
To finish off the trip we'll head to Restaurante Chalana, a specialist in dishes with these scallops. Here you'll get to taste the scallops in six different dishes!
At the end of the activity, we'll head back to the starting point for around 10:45 am.
