Island tradition, history, and many surprises await you in the paradisiacal Cook Islands. Discover the main town of Rarotonga with this guided tour of Avarua.

Avarua Guided Tour

At 3 pm we'll meet at Ara Tapu to start this guided tour of Avarua, the main urban centre of Rarotonga.

Once the presentations are done, we'll start walking through the charming streets of this town to discover some of its most emblematic places and learn about its history. We'll walk around the town and visit some of its most important monuments, such as the Cook Islands Christian Church.

Are you thirsty? During the tour, we'll stop at a juice bar next to the beach to toast your stay on the island.

While we talk about the Polynesian traditions of the area and discover the customs of its people, we'll learn some of the most interesting facts about the gateway to the Cook Islands. Did you know that although Rarotonga belongs to the Cook Islands, it is highly dependent on the New Zealand government?

To finish, we'll return to the starting point, where we'll end the tour after an hour and a half discovering Avarua.
