Electric Bike Champagne Tour
Discover the origin of the famous French delicacy with this Electric Bike Champagne Tour around Hautvillers and Mareuil-sur-Ay, two beautiful towns near Reims.
Electric Bike Champagne Tour
At 9 am, we'll meet in front of Rheims train station. From here we'll take a minibus to the picturesque village of Mareuil-sur-Ay, one of the main locations for French champagne.
In this beautiful town, you'll find one of the region's traditional houses, Le Clos Corbier. Here we'll get off the minibus to go on an electric bike tour of the surrounding vineyards. During the route, we'll discover the 'Champagne Terroirs'. In addition, we'll stop at a family winery to taste three different kinds of handcrafted champagne.
The electric bike tour will continue to the nearby village of Hautvillers, where we'll visit the church where Dom Pérignon is buried. Did you know that this 17th-century monk is considered the inventor of the champagne-making process? After learning about his history, we'll pedal along the canals of the Marne River.
The electric bicycle route will end at Le Clos Corbier, where a delicious traditional French lunch will be waiting for us, including three dishes. After lunch, we'll travel by minibus to a traditional local winery to visit its facilities and taste its sparkling wines.
At the end of the visit, we'll return to Reims train station, arriving at 6:30 pm.
