Rotterdam Watertaxi Tour

Take in the views the observation deck at one of Holland's architectural gems, The De Rotterdam building, with this Rotterdam Watertaxi Tour.

Rotterdam Watertaxi Tour

We'll meet at 11:30 am at the pedestrian bridge on the Dolf Henkesplein quay, located in the Katendrecht district of Rotterdam. From there we'll walk to the hall of the De Rotterdam building, one of the main symbols of contemporary Dutch avant-garde construction. This steel and glass complex, consisting of three interconnected towers, was designed by the prestigious local architectural firm OMA (Office for Metropolitan Architecture).

During our guided tour of the De Rotterdam, popularly known as "De Rotte", we'll walk through the different spaces of this architectural complex. It's a true "vertical city" as it houses, among other things, offices, shops, restaurants and even a 4-star hotel. We'll also climb to the top floor of the building to enjoy its excellent panoramic views, the Rotterdam skyline at our feet!

After the tour of the building, we'll board one of the most characteristic vehicles of the city for a water taxi tour of Rotterdam. On this trip, we'll pass the famous Erasmusbrug Bridge, which is also notable for its modern yet functional design. Its location between the two banks of the New Maas Canal makes this footbridge one of the icons of 21st century Rotterdam.

The water taxi tour will end at the city's old harbour. Once we disembark, we'll take a walk to Blaak Avenue to admire the famous Rotterdam Cube Houses (Kubuswoning). Next to these unusual dwellings is the Markthal: a covered market housed in another avant-garde architectural structure. On its vault, you'll see the vivid colours of the "Horn of Plenty", the work that decorates this roof.

At 1:30 pm we'll conclude the tour at the Markthal, where you can enjoy the extensive range delicacies on your own.

Please note

You can also book a tour of the Markthal and the Cube Houses: a shorter tour that doesn't include the guided tour of the De Rotterdam building or the water taxi tour.
