Kyzylkum Desert 2 Day Tour

Day 1: Samarkand - Nurota - Kyzylkum

We will pick you up from your hotel in Samarkand at 9 am before boarding the minibus to go to the Kyzylkum desert. During a four-hour journey, we will tell you all about the main characteristics of this desert whose name in Uzbek means "red sand".

The first stop is at Nurota, here we will visit the famous Chashma complex, an ancient ruined fortress dating back to the 4th century BC. This is one of the most important archaeological sites in Uzbekistan! We then continue the tour of Nurota at the Juma Mosque, the ancient Panjvaqta Mosque, and the city's Arabian baths. We will also enjoy a delicious traditional lunch in Nurota.

In the late afternoon, we will arrive at the Kyzylkym desert yurt camp where we will spend the night. You will eat a tasty local dinner, attend a fabulous folk show, and find out all about the desert way of life.

Day 2: Kyzylkum - Lake Aidar

Enjoy the unforgettable experience of waking up in the desert. We'll enjoy breakfast at the yurt camp while watching the first light of day bathe the sands of Kyzylkum in a warm red glow.

Afterward, we will set off for Lake Aidar. Here you can take a dip in the crystal waters and photograph the landscape before enjoying a wonderful camel ride through the dunes.

Finally, we'll set off back to Samarkand or to Bujara in a minibus. On the way, we will stop at the famous petroglyphs of Kyzylkum to learn about their history. Arrival at your hotel is scheduled for 5 pm.
