Beginners Scuba Diving

Having picked you up from your hotel in Santa Maria, we'll make our way to the dive centre and its open air pool. Kitted out in a wetsuit, and with fins, mouthpiece, tanks and goggles, we'll begin to learn the basics of scuba diving with an hour-long introductory lesson.

With the first lesson over, we'll make our way to the coast, hoping to view as many marine species as possible. Cape Verde is one of the Atlantic Ocean's prime dive spots, and once at the beach, we'll dive for an hour at various different levels, depending on the capabilities of the group.

You'll enjoy the marine ecosystem which defines Sal, with coral, turtles, manta rays and any number of exotic fish species. You'll be able to see these stunning creatures up close - without doubt an experience that will stay with you forever.

With the dive over, we'll head back to the beach and return to the aquatic centre. And the tour ends back at your hotel, after three hours in the ocean deep.

Important information

• It is not necessary to have previous experience to take part: this activity will allow you to accumulate hours towards your official PADI Open Water certification.
