Delve into the fascinating history of the former Yugoslavia when you take this brilliant trip to Višegrad. You will learn about notable inhabitants from here, such as the novelist Ivo Andric, and we will visit the amazing Andricgrad cultural center.
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Sarajevo at 8 am. From there, we will make a two-hour journey by minibus to Višegrad, located at over 1000 ft above sea level.
Upon arriving at our destination, we will take a pleasant walk around this enchanting city. Along the way, you will encounter the beautiful Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge which crosses the Drina River. Erected almost 500 years ago, it has become the symbol of Visegrad thanks to the Nobel Prize-winning author, Ivo Andrić.
We will follow the footprints of the writer, and visit the film-set village of Andricgrad, which was built in his honor. There we will see his statue and explore the streets, discovering places such as the Ivo Andric Cultural Institute, the Academy of Fine Arts, and the Institute of Slavic Languages. During the summer months, you will even have free time to take a boat ride if you want (not included).
After visiting Andricgrad, we then go to the Zlatna Moruna restaurant to enjoy a traditional lunch consisting of a tasty main course and a drink. While enjoying the food, you can contemplate the beautiful frescoes painted by the artist Bisenija Tereščenko.
Feeling reenergized, we will hop back on the minibus and take you back to your hotel in Sarajevo, where we arrive at 5 pm.
