Don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity to go on a hike to Kjerag, Norway's 'hanging rock'. You can also go on a relaxing boat trip along the fjords of this Nordic region.
Kjerag Hike and Boat Ride along the Fjord
When making your reservation, you'll have the choice between two different hikes depending when you're doing the activity: the summer route and the autumn route.
Summer route (1 June to 31 August)
After picking you up from the meeting point, we'll hop into an air-conditioned vehicle for a 1-hour journey along the shores of the fjords of the Ryfylke region until we reach the Høgsfjord quays.
From there we'll board a boat, and enjoy a cruise while we admire landscapes of steep rock walls and Norway's nature in all its splendour. We'll be surrounded by waterfalls, picturesque houses and, of course, the Preikestolen cliff, at almost 604 metres high.
When we reach the village of Lysebotn, we'll take a bus along the winding road to the Sirdal Mountains and then to the Eagle's Nest Trail. From there we'll set off on a 2 and a half hour hike to Kjerag, the famous hanging rock. Once on the edge of the plateau, at 1000 metres high, we'll enjoy spectacular views of the 42-kilometre-long fjord.
Then we'll have some free time to have lunch and recharge our batteries before we return to Eagle's Nest and then back to Stavanger.
Autumn route (1 September to 15 November)
Having picked you up from the selected meeting point, we'll head to the Eagle's Nest, where we'll begin our hiking route. The trek, which will take approximately two and a half hours, will bring us to the ironic rock known as Kjerag. The effort will be well worth it when we see the beautiful autumn landscapes of Lysebotn, located on the banks of the famous Lysefjord Fjord.
After admiring the views, you'll have free time for lunch before setting off on another trail. This two hour route will bring us back to the Eagle's Nest, and from there, we'll head to Lyseboton, where we'll enjoy a boat trip on Lysefjord. The cruise will end back at the original departure point, before we make the return journey to Stavanger.
Please note: the boat trip does not take place on Saturdays or between the 14 and 18 October. If you do the tour on those dates, we will instead do a small minibus tour of the area.
Please note that the hiking activity is designed for people with a good level of fitness. It is a 6.8 mile (11 km) route and climbs over 2600 feet (800 metres).
