Tbilisi Food Tour + Cooking Class
We'll meet at 4 pm in front of Avlabari metro station and start this food tour with a walk to one of the most beautiful temples in the Georgian capital, the Holy Trinity Cathedral.
Nearby, we'll stop to taste Laghidze, the country's traditional lemonade, and Adjarian khachapuri, a traditional Georgian dish made with puff pastry and egg.
Then we'll go back to Avlabari station to take the metro to Liberty Square and make our way to the Tbilisi funicular stop. We'll climb Mtatsminda Mountain on the cable car and visit the Mama Daviti Church pantheon. While admiring the view we'll have lemonade with some Ponchiki, the Georgian doughnuts par excellence.
The tour will continue to the centre of Tbilisi, to visit a Georgian family who will give us a local cooking class! We'll prepare several dishes, including Khinkali and Khachapuri, accompanied by a portion of aubergines with nuts, a typical Georgian salad and cornbread.
Then it will be time to try the dishes we have prepared, and we'll toast with Chacha, the traditional Georgian brandy! The tour will end at 9 pm in Fabrika, a popular area in the city with many bars and restaurants.
