Discover the great monumental heritage of one of the most historic cities in the Netherlands with this Utrecht Bike Tour, one of the most popular form of transport among the Dutch.
Utrecht Bike Tour
We'll start our bike tour of Utrecht by meeting at 10:30 am at the statue of Count Jan Van Nassau, located on the centrally located Domplein. On this square, we'll see the exterior architecture of St. Martin's Cathedral, one of the main Gothic monuments of the city.
Opposite the cathedral is the Dom tower, which at 112 metres is the tallest bell tower in the Netherlands. After admiring its great length from below, from the Domplein square, we'll head towards the most unique corners of Utrecht. We pass the oldest cycle path in the Netherlands and the home of the country's first female university student.
We'll continue our bike tour along the docks and canals of Utrecht. We'll also pass a famous shop that sells one of the best vanilla ice creams in the world. We'll stop for 20 minutes halfway through the tour to have a drink in a local shop in the old town.
Afterwards, the tour will reveal what the famous Treaty of Utrecht meant for Spain. We'll also tell you about one of the most famous local characters: Hadrian VI, the first and only Dutch pope in history.
The tour will end by walking through the historic centre of Utrecht back to the starting point, arriving at 1 pm.
