Discover Zagreb's darker side and tour the places that were the setting for the recent Croatian war. See the consequences of the conflict, and the regeneration of the Croatian capital.
The tour meets at the indicated time in Ban Jelačić square from where we'll begin our tour of the scene of the Croatian War of Independence, which shook the country bryween 1991 and 1995, putting an end to the former Yugoslavia.
During a little over two hours we'll tour the streets of Zagreb, exploring the devastating consequences of the war on the civil population. We'll see those places worst affected by the bombardments, and discover new buildings where once there were schools, hositals and houses.
We'll explore the underground tunnels from the Second World War, and feel as though we had returned to the Croatia of the mid-20th century. We'll discover their use as we tour the dark galleries they form today.
As we learn of the history, formation and end of Yugoslavia, we'll make our way to the The Memorial Centre of the Rocket Attacks on Zagreb, where we'll see audiovisual material from the war, and will visit the permanent exhibition.
Then after several hours discovering the Croatian War of Independence and the mark it left on Zagreb, our tour comes to an end.
