Amarante Guided Tour
We'll meet at the time you select at the Igreja de São Gonçalo church to begin our guided tour of Amarante that will walk us through the history of this fascinating Portuguese city. Home to the Tâmega River and the iconic São Gonzçalo Monastery, Amarante is a town full of culture, history and heritage.
Throughout the tour, we'll make our way through Amarante's many streets and alleys to discover some of its main monuments and most interesting stories and legends. You'll also find out about famous figures who've left their mark on the city, such as Antonio do Lago Cerqueira and Amadeo de Souza Cardoso.
Lastly, we'll finish off the tour by tasting some of the area's typical desserts with a tea or coffee - what a treat!
The guided tour will end back at the starting point.

The temperature and wellness of all those taking part in the service will be monitored daily, excluding and maintaining in quarantine any who display fever or symptoms.
The temperature of all attendees will be taken, and admission will be denied to those with a temperature of more than 37 degrees Celsius (99 Fahrenheit), and a full refund applied.
The transport used will be disinfected before and after each service and deep-cleaned every 24 hours.
The capacity of all means of transport will be reduced to 67% of their maximum capacity.
At monuments, museums and attractions, the maximum permitted capacity will be a 50% of the total maximum capacity.
