We'll meet at the scheduled time on the old bridge of Gorica, which crosses the river Osum. Once we're all there, we'll start a free tour of Berat to get to know the city of a thousand windows. Do you know why it has that nickname? Find out on the tour!
During this guided tour, we'll go back in time to the 15th century to discover the Ottoman background of the town, as well as the fascinating architectural style that exists in the different districts of Berat. We'll also see that this city, one of the oldest in Albania, has three old quarters: Mangalem, Gorica and Kalaja.
We'll continue our tour of the historic centre, which has been declared a World Heritage Site, reaching Berat Castle, a fortress full of authentic gems of Byzantine art. After marvelling at the treasures inside, we'll return to the centre of Berat, where we'll end the free tour after two hours.
