We currently don’t have any scheduled dates for this activity.
Did you know that the world's smallest penguins spend their days fishing at sea and only return to dry land at night? See it for yourself watching the Penguin Parade on Phillip Island!
Penguin Parade at Phillip Island
Every day, as the sunset colours tint Melbourne's darkening night skies, something incredible happens. Just an hour and a half from the city centre is Phillip Island, where the Penguin Parade Visitor Centre is located. Having arrived there on the evening of your activity, you'll be shown how to walk to Summerland Beach, a beautiful bay filled with seats where you'll sit to watch the fairy penguins come home for the night!
Sit back, relax and enjoy the sound of the sea as you wait for the colony of little penguins to appear. These adorable birds, the smallest species of penguin, return to their homes in the island's sand dunes every night after a hard day fishing at sea.
As you watch this captivating natural spectacle up close, you'll be enchanted by how intelligent these tiny animals are, finding their way back home to their burrows day after day! A truly unique experience that you won't forget easily.
Penguin Parade Timing
You can enter the park from 5:30 pm onwards, however, the penguin parade doesn't take place until sunset, and the exact time of the animals' arrival varies depending on the season.
